Advisor to the Information and Broadcasting Ministry of the interim government, Nahid Islam, has said that no matter how much pressure BNP puts for early elections, the government will move towards elections based on the work of the Reform Commission.
In an interview with a privet television channel, he mentioned that the government is not accountable to any party, but to the desires of the people.
Demands to ban former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her party Awami League, which is criticised for the July-August massacre, have also been raised in various quarters.
Asked about what the government is thinking about this, Nahid Islam said that by killing people indiscriminately during the student and public movement, the Awami League has lost its moral right to do politics. They only should not face trial, but also to apologise to the people.
The interim government is having to deal with a movement to realise one demand after another after the mass uprising.
When asked about the matter, Nahid Islam said that some of the demands are justified, but not all of them. They believe that there may be a conspiracy behind these demands.
Nahid Islam said, "The laws that are obstacles to media freedom will be reviewed. We will try to outline an outline by discussing and reviewing economic-political security and other related issues, so that people in this country can freely practice media in this country."
