This year’s Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations will not be held due to inconvenience caused by Corona pandemic.
However, these eighth grade candidates will be evaluated and promoted to the next class on the basis of annual examinations and assignments. Candidates will also be given certificates.
This information was given in a circular signed by Chairman of Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Sub-Committee and Chairman, Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Dhaka Prof Nehal Ahmed on Tuesday.
The Dhaka Board has directed educational institutions to fill up specific forms from December 6 to 13, with candidate’s information to issue the certificates.

The decision not to conduct this year’s JSC and JDC exams has been taken considering the overall situation of coronavirus infection and teaching-learning activities in the classroom, the statement said.
Educational institutions have to evaluate the students on the basis of annual examinations and assignments.
Earlier, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education had decided not to conduct the Primary Ending Certificate (PEC) examinations of the fifth graders this year.
PEC, JSC and JDC examinations are usually held every year in November, but due to induced situation in pandemic, these examinations were not held either in the previous year. The candidates were automatically promoted to the next class.
