AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, Deputy Minister for Water Resources and former organizing secretary of Awami League said that those who compare Bangladesh with Pakistan and Sri Lanka do not believe in the independence and sovereignty of this country.

Therefore, Bangabandhu's soldiers never compromised on the question of the great liberation war, Bangabandhu, Bangladesh and Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina. All the conspiracies of Awami League and its affiliated organizations must be united.
He said this while addressing as the chief guest at the tri-annual conference of Union Swechchhasebak League at Fatehjangpur in Naria upazila of Shariatpur district today.
The deputy minister said that anti-corruption rhetoric does not sit well with the leaders of corrupt parties like BNP, and their leader Begum Khaleda Zia has been convicted of embezzling orphans' money. Her fugitive son Tareq Rahman is known abroad as the son of corruption. Anti-corruption rhetoric has created humor all over the country.
He said, “Grassroots leaders and activists are the lifeblood of Awami League. They are arrogant, but not dishonest. There will be competition for leadership in the team, but there will be no revenge. Opportunity seekers have no place in this team.”
Those who are dedicated to the team will get a place in the ranks. No drug addict, drug dealer will have a place in Awami League and allied organizations. Intruders will be identified and expelled, he added.
“We have to move forward with new challenges in the next elections. Therefore, the leaders of Awami League and allied organizations will work for the party and bring the people's leader Sheikh Hasina to power for the fifth time in the next elections,” said the Deputy Minister.
