The Election Commission (EC) amended the office order issued in the name of overall security.
At the same time, the organisation said that there is no obstacle in the entry and location of journalists in the election building.
Public Relations Director of EC Shariful Alam confirmed the matter on Thursday.
He told the media that the previous office order has been amended. No problem, journalists will work as before.
Earlier in the morning, the EC issued an office order imposing restrictions on the entry and location of journalists like visitors for the overall security of the election building.
The order stated that in the interests of overall security of the Election Commission Secretariat, various service aspirants, except the officials/employees of the Election Commission Secretariat, IDEA-2 (Smartcard) Project, EVM Project, CBTEP Project, service providers PWD, guests and journalists are instructed not to stay and enter the election building after 5 pm after office hours.
Only the media center will be open for journalists.
This order will be effective immediately.
