Nine teams from different private and public universities in the country will take part in the European Rover Challenge in Poland from 13th to 15th September of this year. European Rover Challenge is one of the biggest international space and robotics events in the world. ERC gathers not only specialists in planetary robotics and Mars rovers designers but also representatives of science and business, the new-tech sector and the general public interested in the development of science and new technologies.

The main part of ERC is an international robotics competition in which rovers constructing teams compete in the tasks analogous to those performed by rovers on the surface of Mars and the Moon. The competition has been enjoying a very high prestige since its first edition in 2014.

56 teams from 16 different countries will be in the competition including 9 from Bangladesh. The teams representing Bangladesh are AUST Little Step (Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology), BRACU Mongol-Tori (BRAC University), Ekush (Military Institute of Science and Technology), Interplanetar (Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology - BUET), IUT Avijatrik (Islamic University of Technology), IUT Mars Rover (Islamic University of Technology), LU_Durbar (Leading University), NSU Mars Ex (North South University) and Ogrodoot (Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology).
