Miscreants hacked a NGO official to death in broad daylight at Gaotara area of Dhaka's Dhamrai, on Tuesday morning. Police, later recovered the body and sent it to Shahid Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, detained one as well.
The deceased was identified as Md. Ismail, 23, son of late Abdul Alim, hailed from Amrail village of Jadavpur union of Dhamrai. On other hand the detainee was identified as Razib Hossain, 30, son of late Abdus Salam, from same area.
Noyon Mia, Inspector (Operation) of Dhamrai police station confirmed the matter.
He said, Ismail used to work for a local NGO organisation named 'Shandimanab Unnayan Shangstha'. Some miscreants hacked him to death with sharp weapon, while he was returning to his office after collecting installment money from debtor at Gaotara area around 11:00 am. Later, locals were detained one of the miscreants in red handed, and handed over to police, rest were manages to flee.
"A case has been filed with Dhamrai police station regarding the matter, and police working to arrest others criminal, who involved with the incident", Noyon Said.
