Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, the only maritime specialised public university in the country, organised an orientation programme for the newly enrolled students on the campus in Dhaka recently, said a press release on Thursday.
Vice-chancellor Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa was present as chief guest on the occasion, while registrar Commodore Sheikh Firoz Ahmed delivered the welcome address.
The orientation programme was held for the students of the 6th batch of BSc in naval architecture and offshore engineering, the 7th batch of BSc in oceanography, the 5th batch of both BBA in port management and logistics and LLB in maritime law and the 4th batch of marine fisheries departments.
The treasurer, deans, faculty members, officers, staff and students attended the programme. The parents of the newly enrolled students also attended the programme.
At the beginning of the programme, the students were given a warm welcome to BSMRMU for joining the specialised university.
Along with the screening of a documentary on BSMRMU, the students were provided a briefing on the university’s rules-regulations, security, examination regulations and financial issues.
