Newly constructed academic building of Kanchannagar School and College was inaugurated in Jhenaidah on Monday.
The building was constructed with the fund of Zahedi Foundation, local voluntary organisation. Executive director of the foundation Naser Shahrier Zahedi Mahul inaugurated the new school building.
On the occasion, a discussion was arranged with Kanchannagar School and College’s governing body president Advocate Azizur Rahman in the chair. Principal of the collegiate school Pradip Kumar Biswas, former principal BC Biswas, executive member of Zahedi Foundation Qayum Shahrier Zahedi Hizzol and former president of Kanchannagar Association Shahinur Alam Liton spoke at the discussion, among others. Later, a soiree was organised on the campus.
The speakers said that academic and cultural activities might save today’s generation when the young generation became almost victim of drug, terrorism and other anti-social activities.
They called upon the guardians to take care of their children so that they could engage themselves in study and other welfare activities to build themselves idel citizens towards a just society as desired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
