New post of assistant headmaster created in primary schools

Published : 22 Oct 2024 09:55 PM

A new post of Assistant Headmaster has been created in Government Primary Schools. On October 16, the Ministry of Public Administration approved a proposal from the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education for this new position.

Initially, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education proposed creating 65,566 Assistant Headmaster posts. However, after a review, the Ministry of Public Administration approved 9,572 posts. It is still undecided whether these posts will be filled through teacher promotions or a new recruitment process.

The Ministry of Public Administration's approval includes several conditions. These conditions involve getting approval from the finance department, following administrative development recommendations, and ensuring the posts are added to the Government Primary School Teacher Recruitment Rules. The concerned minister's approval is also required before finalizing the creation of the posts.

An official from the Department of Primary Education stated that they will hold meetings with the Ministry of Public Administration to finalize the recruitment process. The recruitment rules will be updated to include these new posts.

This decision is expected to improve the leadership in primary schools across the country. However, further discussions are necessary to determine the exact recruitment process.
