The portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman installed at the main gate of the newly built Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall and the portrait of Atish Dipankar Shrigyan installed at the main gate of the newly built Atish Dipankar Srigyan Hall were unveiled.
On this occasion, a discussion meeting was held at CU Atish Dipankar Shrigyan Hall on Monday.
Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shireen Akhtar addressed the meeting as the chief guest. CU Pro VC (Academic) Prof Benu Kumar Dey spoke as special guest.
Prof Dr Sajib Kumar Ghosh, Provost of CU Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall gave a welcome speech on the occasion.
CU Atish Dipankar Srigyan Hall Provost Professor Dr Gyan Ratna Sraman presided over the function. Prof Dr Mohammad Abdullah Mamun, Director of CU Student Counseling and Guidance Center spoke in this.
CU Syndicate Members Prof Dr Mohammad Abul Mansoor and Prof Dr Mohammad Khairul Islam, Dean of CU Law Faculty Prof Dr Abdullah Al Farooq, CU Registrar (Acting) KM Nur Ahmad, Provosts of various Halls, CU Proctor Dr. Mohammad Nurul Azim Sikder and assistant proctors, resident teachers of respective halls, CU chief engineers and engineers, office heads, leaders of employees' associations, officials-employees, students of residential halls were present.
CU VC said, I feel blessed to install these portraits in the two newly constructed halls of CU. As a result of the installation of this portrait, all the residential students who will get housing facilities will be interested in learning about the philosophy of life of these two great men and they will develop themselves as enlightened people and devote themselves to the service of the country and nation by retaining, nurturing and practicing their philosophy.
Later, CU Vice-Chancellor along with the guests unveiled the portraits of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Atish Dipankar Shrigyan.
Crests with portraits of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and AtishDipankarShrigyan were presented on the occasion.
Atish Dipankan Shrigyan Hall resident student Johnny Baruah moderated from among the students and the hall's resident student Navodaya Chakma spoke. National song and dance were performed by students on the occasion
