The newly appointed Director General (DG) of the Immigration and Passport Department Major General Mohammad Ayub Chowdhury paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj on Tuesday afternoon.
He paid his respects by laying a wreath at the altar of Bangabandhu's mausoleum. After paying his respects, he recited the Holy Fateha-Durood and prayed for the forgiveness of the souls of Bangabandhu and all the martyrs of August 15, 1975. He also prayed for Bangabandhu's worthy daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's health and long life along with country’s welfare.
Major Kazi Anis Morshed, Cord Officer of the Director General, Director of Immigration and Passport Department Tawfiq Islam Khan, Deputy Director Abu Noman Mohammad Zakir Hossain and others were also present there.
Major General Mohammad Ayub Chowdhury plater signed the inspection book preserved at Bangabandhu Bhaban. Then, he visited Gopalganj Regional Passport Office where he was greeted with flowers by officers led by Assistant Director Md. Afzal Hossain.
