For the first time, students who have passed the SSC (Vocational) and Dakhil (Vocational) examinations under the Technical Education Board can now secure admission to mainstream higher secondary education. The Ministry of Education has introduced a policy allowing these students to enroll in college for class 11.
Historically, from the academic year 2017-18 to 2023-24, SSC (Vocational) and Dakhil (Vocational) passed from the Technical Education Board were excluded from mainstream higher secondary education. However, the latest policy has rectified this exclusion, opening doors for these students.
According to section 2.3.6 of the policy issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, graduates of SSC (Vocational) and Dakhil (Vocational) exams from the Technical Education Board are eligible to apply for admission to any group under the General Education Board. Farid Uddin Ahmed, Secretary of the Technical and Madrasa Education Department of the Ministry of Education, emphasised the importance of integrating technical education with the general stream. He stated that students in technical programmes cover similar content to that of general education, hence deserving the opportunity to pursue further studies in mainstream colleges.
In line with the eleventh admission policy, the online admission application for this year will commence on May 26 and continue in three phases until June 11, with classes scheduled to begin on July 30. The list of students selected for first-phase admission will be published on June 23, requiring confirmation by June 29. The second-phase admission application will start from June 30 to July 2.
results of second-phase applicants will be announced on July 4, along with migration results for students selected in the first phase. Subsequently, the admission application for students selected in the second phase will open from July 5 to July 8. Additionally, the application for third-phase admission will run from July 9 to July 10.
Phase II migration and Phase III results will be released on July 12, with confirmation for third-phase admission set between July 13 and 14. The admission process for selected students in all stages will commence on July 15, lasting for ten days, and classes will start on July 30.
The policy maintains last year's application fee at Tk. 150 and registration fee at Rs. 335, with online application being the sole method of application. Furthermore, a 7 percent quota has been retained for admission, ensuring inclusivity in the process.
