New Indian HC presents credentials, pays respect to Bangabandhu

 Newly appointed Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pranay Verma presented his credentials to President Mohammad Abdul Hamid on Thursday.

After that, he paid respect to the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and visited the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondhi 32, the Indian High Commission said in a statement.

During his call on the following presentation of credentials, the High Commissioner conveyed the warm greetings of the Government and the people of India to the President highlighting the great importance attached by India to its relations with Bangladesh.

He added that it would be his endeavour to work towards further expanding and strengthening the close and friendly relations that exist between India and Bangladesh, and that he looked forward to working closely with the government of Bangladesh to realise the full potential of India-Bangladesh relations.

 The President congratulated the High Commissioner on assuming his new responsibilities and expressed the hope that the on-going robust development of bilateral cooperation between India and Bangladesh in various fields will be further strengthened in the coming times.
