New Era Foundation, a private development organization of Ishwardi, Pabna distributed Eid gifts to the elderly people, at the Foundation's head office premises at Charmirkamari in the upazila on Saturday noon.
Former Member of Parliament freedom fighter Manjur Rahman Biswas, Executive Director of the organization presided over the function.
In a short speech at the time, he said, “The elderly are a blessing to our family, our society. We want to share the joy of Eid with them and that is why the New Era Foundation has been working with the elders every year before Eid. This cooperation will continue in the future as well. Besides, the deputy director of the organization Mostaq Ahmed Kiran also spoke at the event.
According to the sources, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday, 100 senior citizens of Salimpur Union were given a total of one lakh taka each. Besides, sari was given to more than a hundred old women.
