New clothes bring smile to street children in Sylhet

Prattyasha Welfare Trust, a social platform in Sylhet, distributed news clothes among the underprivileged and street children just day before the Eid-ul-Fitr to help them celebrate the biggest religious festival of Muslim community. Over 50 poor and helpless children received new dresses.

The cloth distribution ceremony was held at Upashar area in Sylhet city. Rebeka Akhter Lucky, a woman councilor of Sylhet City Corporation, attended the event as the chief guest. Executive Editor of Daily Jalalabad Abdul Quader Tapader, noted artist and singer Matiur Rahman Khaled, Advocate Juned Ahmed, child organiser Abrar Nafi, Md Asfak Uddin Khan and Nayeem Khan were also present at the function, among others.

Maksuda Chowdhury played a vital role to distribute the new clothes among street children on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr. Talking to the Bangladesh Post, she said that they successfully completed the programme with the support of some people of Sylhet who live in the country and abroad. The people extended their helping hands in this regard.    

Maksuda Chowdhury said, “We are happy as the Eid gifts brought smile to some poor and street children. There are many street children in the country who are living a miserable life. With the view to bring a smile on the faces of some street children during the Eid, we distributed new clothes. We will continue such programme in the next.”
