A views exchange meeting was held between newly-appointed Superintendent of Police (SP) RM Faijur Rahman and local journalists on different problems of the district and upcoming parliament election at Drill Shed of Police Lines in Chuadanga Town on Tuesday.
The meeting was presided over by SP RM Faijur Rahman. Additional Superintendent of Police (Admin) Riazul Islam, Assistant Superintendent of Police Jakia Sultana, DIO-1 of DSB Abu Jihad Fakrul Alam Khan and Officer -in -Charge of Chuadanga Police Station Mahbubur Rahman Kazol were present at the programme.
Chuadanga Press Club President Sardar Al Amin, Chuadanga Press Club General Secretary Rajib Hasan Kochi, journalists Azad Malita, Manik Akbar and Shah Alam Sony addressed the meeting.
An open discussion was arranged on the occasion. Journalists Abul Hashem, Rifat Rahman, Khairuzzaman Setu, Islam Rakib, Rafiqul Islam and Hossain Malik took part in the open discussion. All programmes were conducted by ASP Anisuzzaman Lalon.
After hearing opinion of the journalists SP Faijur Rahman discussed different issues at his speech.
SP Faijur Rahman said, the police are committed to fulfilling their assigned duty for conducting peaceful upcoming parliament election. Everyone should follow code of conduct of election. So, police request all to maintain law and order during the election hourin this regards.
He also said, police also want to ensure the safety of peoples’ lives and their property from the unruly persons and attackers.
He again said, the tools of criminals are militancy, terrorism and drugs. We would fight against these for ensuring peace among people.
It may be mentioned here that RM Faijur Rahman joined as Superintendent of Police on November 17. His last station was DMP as Deputy Police Commissioner.
