Sources say that some important ministries, including finance and foreign affairs may have new faces in the cabinet. Many of the ministers of the incumbent cabinet may be shown the door for the poor performance as AL president wants to form a smart cabinet.

Dr Abdur Razzaque, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud will remain in the new cabinet.
Two former bureaucrats, who have been elected MPs for the first time, may get portfolios in the new cabinet.

Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain will conduct the new ministers' oath-taking ceremony at Durbar Hall of the Bangabhaban at 7:00 pm on the day, the Bangabhaban spokesman added.
On the occasion, the Bangabhaban has taken preparation to arrange the ceremony with as many as one thousand guests along with dignitaries.

Talking to the reporters at the secretariat on Tuesday, Cabinet Secretary Md. Mahbub Hossain he is yet to receive instructions about the size of the cabinet and who will be the cabinet members.
On January 7, the 12th parliamentary polls were held in 299 seats. The Awami League won 222 seats, Jatiya Party won 11 seats and independent candidates 62 seats while partners of the AL-led 14-party alliance -Workers Party and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasod) got one seat each. Bangladesh Kalyan Party won in one seat in the polls.
The Election Commission (EC) published the gazette on Tuesday with the list of 298 MPs.
