Ghanshyam Bhandari, Ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh; has paid a courtesy call on Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Water Resources. The meeting took place at the latter’s ministry's office in Dhaka on Sunday.
During the meeting, both sides discussed areas of mutual cooperation, especially concerning environmental protection, climate change actions and energy cooperation.
Syeda Rizwana Hasan underscored the critical need for joint efforts in combating the adverse effects of climate change, particularly for countries like Bangladesh and Nepal that are highly vulnerable to its impacts.
She expressed Bangladesh’s readiness to work closely with Nepal on various environmental initiatives, including reforestation, water conservation, and eco-friendly development projects.
Ambassador Bhandari emphasised Nepal's commitment to regional collaboration for addressing climate challenges and highlighted the importance of sharing knowledge and best practices between neighboring countries. He also invited Environment Advisor to Nepal.
Both parties acknowledged the potential for enhanced bilateral relations through environmental diplomacy and agreed to explore future collaborative projects aimed at promoting sustainable development and resilience in the region.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening ties between Bangladesh and Nepal in addressing shared environmental challenges.
