NCTB announces half yearly summative evaluation guidelines for classes VI to IX

Published : 15 Jun 2024 09:29 PM

The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has issued guidelines for schools to conduct the six-monthly summative evaluation for students in classes VI to IX. This evaluation will take place from July 3 to July 30 following the National Curriculum 2022.

Schools have already received the schedule and the chapters to be covered for this evaluation. Before the evaluations begin, by July 3, schools must input the mastery indicators of all subjects into the Naipunya App.

During the evaluation period, no regular classes for classes VI to IX will be held on evaluation days. Each subject's evaluation must be completed in one day and should not exceed five hours, though breaks are allowed.

The evaluation will include both hands-on activities and written tasks. Schools must provide all necessary materials such as paper, pens, scissors, and glue. Recycled and inexpensive materials should be used, and parents or students should not be asked to supply any items.

A small evaluation fee may be charged to parents. Detailed instructions and materials for the evaluations will be available on the institute's dashboard (master.noipunno.gov.bd) and the relevant department's website the day before the evaluation begins.

Teachers will receive a guide with instructions, checklists, and evaluation sheets. After the evaluations, proficiency indicators must be recorded in the Naipunya App.

This program aims to ensure a thorough evaluation of students' skills and knowledge, adhering to the guidelines provided by the NCTB.
