National Bank Limited on Thursday organized a special doa and milad mahfil, marking the second death anniversary of the late Chairman of National Bank Limited and Sikdar Group, industrialist, valiant freedom fighter Zainul Haque Sikder.
The prayers and milad mahfils was held at the head office of the bank at Banglamotor in the capital, as well as at all the branches of the bank including the main branches across the country on Thursday.
Bank's senior officers, officials-employees of various levels, well-wishers, businessmen and people of various professions participated in the doa mahfil and prayed for the salvation of the departed soul of the renowned Industrialist and valiant freedom fighter, Z H Sikder.
Managing Director and CEO of the bank Md. Mehmood Husain spoke at the event, stating, "The loss of Zainul Haque Sikder is not only a loss for the National Bank, but for the nation as a whole. He should not just be remembered as an industrialist, but as a complete human being filled with humanity. He was highly respected for his bravery as a freedom fighter and organizer of the liberation war and his success as a businessman was recognized both locally and globally."
It is noteworthy that Zainul Haque Sikder passed away on February 10, 2021. The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and other prominent political leaders and industrialists expressed their deep sorrow and offered condolences to his family members, as he was a close companion of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
