The first international conference titled 'First International Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences-2022' has started on Tuesday (June 14) at the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam University. The campus has become a hotbed of eminent academics and researchers from India, Malaysia and England.
Dr Soumitra Shekhar, Vice-Chancellor of Kabi Nazrul University, said in the session, "We want to build our university as a research-minded university like the well-known universities of the world." We want an environment where knowledge will be practiced, research will be done. With that goal in mind, we are moving forward with the three pillars of education, research and development. The first session of the conference was held on Tuesday (June 14) at the Central Library of the University. Researchers then began presenting their dissertations through parallel sessions held at various locations on campus.
Prof Dr Md. Sajjad Hossain, Member, University Grants Commission was present as the Chief Guest. Poet Nazrul University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Soumitra Shekhar inaugurated the conference as the Chief Patron. Dr. David Dennis, Professor at the University of London, Professor Dr. Rabindra University, India. Barun Kumar Chakraborty, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Yusuf Bin Hamid from Malaysia, Dhaka University Professor Dr. Fakrul Alam, Nazrul University Treasurer Prof. Mohammad. Jalal Uddin, Professor of Social Sciences. Nazrul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Dr. Ahmedul Bari, Registrar of Agriculture Dr. Mo Humayun Kabir. Welcoming remarks were made by the convener of the conference organizing committee. Sheikh Mehedi Hasan.
At the beginning of the program, the Vice Chancellor of Poet Nazrul University, Prof. Dr. Soumitra Shekhar welcomed the invited guests with a bouquet of flowers. Besides, Prof. Dr. Sajjad Hossain, a member of the University Grants Commission, paid homage to the portraits of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam in front of the administrative building of the university. Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Soumitra Shekhar and other guests were present on the occasion.
Wishing the success of the conference to be held for the first time, the Vice Chancellor of Kabi Nazrul University said, "We have limited resources and little experience." Yet we managed with our limited ability and experience. Thanks to the organizers for that. I wish success to this conference organized by the University.
Commenting on the conference, the foreign guests said that the knowledge generated through such conferences has a huge impact on our society and human life. By organizing this international conference in a very smooth and orderly environment, Nazrul University has put its signature of their ability.
