Two robbers were arrested with locally made weapons from Bhola on Saturday during a drive conducted by joint forces of Bangladesh Navy and police.
The detainees are identified as Md Monir Hossain Byapari and Md. Rasel. Based on the information of the detainees, one locally made revolver, five Ramdas, three creases, one dagger, two lances, three indigenous choppers, one whip, one Chinese hammer, and two cellphones were recovered at that time.
The matter confirmed through an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release on Saturday.
The ISPR press release said Bangladesh Navy has been conducting regular joint operations to recover illegal weapons and eliminate terrorism under the 'In Aid to Civil Power' framework as per the government's instructions. In continuation of this effort, the naval contingent conducted a drive in the Rouder Hat area of the Bhola Sadar Thana on early Saturday. The robber, arms dealer and extortionist Md Monir Hossain Byapari and drug dealer Md Rasel were arrested in the raid. There are several cases filed against them in Bhola police station.
The press release further said the policemen of Bhola sadar police station also participated in the drive. Later, the detainees along with the seized items were handed over to Bhola sadar police station for taking legal action.
