Theatre troupe Natyakendra will stage its 16th theatrical production titled Tirtha Yatri at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on August 2, 3 and 4, said a press release.
Tirtha Yatri, directed by actor-director Tauquir Ahmed, is the 16th production of Natyakendra. The play, written by Humayun Kabir and dramatised by Humayun Kabir and Tauquir Ahmed, was staged in New York, USA in March.
Tauquir Ahmed is one of the founding members of Natyakendra. He has previously staged plays, namely Hoybadan, Pratisarn and Ichchamrityu in the USA.
Tirtha Yatri revolves around three soldiers. After the war ends, they sit aimlessly on the battlefield. They realise that they have lost everything during the war. The three soldiers set out on a pilgrimage to discover the true meaning and solace of life.
