Unconventional native fruits are much more nutritious but due to lack of awareness, the cultivation of native fruit Chalta is gradually declining.
Ayesha Siddiqa, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of at Chirirbandar, inaugurated the programme at Uttar Bholanathpur village under Auliapukur union of the upazila on Friday morning at the initiative of the agriculture department.
Chirirbandar Upazila Agriculture Officer Md Hasan presided over the function. Hundreds of farmers including Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Fani Bhushan Roy were present at the time.
