National youth day was observed in Jhenaidah on Tuesday with a view to reform the country of Bangabandhu with trained youth forces. Jhenaidah district administration and department of youth development (DYD) jointly organized the programme. The day was started with hoisting the national flag and releasing pigeons in the sky. Later tree saplings were transplanted at the Juba Bhaban.
A discussion meeting was held with DYD deputy director Reazul Alam Khan in the chair. Additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Salim Reza attended the programme as chief guest. Additional superintendent of police Anwar Sayeed, deputy director of the department of social welfare Abdul Latif Sheikh, district information officer Abu Baker Siddique and upazila youth development officer Anisur Rahman attended as special guests.
The speakers urged upon the youth community to build them as good citizens to make the country one of the most developed ones that the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been fighting to fulfill the dream of his father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Later the guests distributed bank cheques among the trained youths so that they could build up their carriers with profitable and sustainable income generation activities.
