State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Zahid Ahsan Russel said that the National Sports Awards will be presented today (Wednesday), among the prominent players and sports organizers nominated for the National Sports Awards from 2013 to 2020. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has agreed to distribute the prizes as the chief guest at the award ceremony.
He made the comment while addressing a preparatory meeting on the occasion of awarding National Sports Award (2013-2020) at the conference room of the Ministry of Youth and Sports this afternoon.
Youth and Sports Secretary Mesbah Uddin was present at the time. It is to be noted that National Sports Awards are given to eminent players and organizers who have contributed in the field of sports at national and international level.
The preparatory meeting was attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and its affiliated departments.
