National Road Safety Day-2022 was observed in Pirojpur district on Saturday as elsewhere across the country.
This year's theme of the day is 'Ain Meney Sorokey Choli, Nirapodey Ghorey Phiri (Let us follow the law on the road and return home safely".
On the occasion, a colorful rally was brought out from the premises of the Zila Parishad which paraded the important streets and ended at the Shaheed Omar Farak auditorium in Sadar upazila this morning.
After the rally, a discussion meeting was held at the Shaheed Omar Farak auditorium in Sadar upazila this morning. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Zahedur Rahman addressed the function as the chief guest with Additional District Magistrate Md. Aminul Islam in the chair. The chief guest said the main objective of the government is to make the road system of Bangladesh safe and create public awareness. He urged everyone to obey the traffic laws and rules. Superintendent of Police Mohammad Saidur Rahman, Panel Mayor of Pirojpur Municipality Md. Abdul Hai, General Secretary of District Bus and Minibus Owners Association Sardar Shahidul Islam, Journalist Gautam Chowdhury, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Government officials, leaders of road transport workers and representatives of transport owners associations, among others, were present at the meeting.
