National Revolution and Solidarity Day was observed in Faridpur on Thursday with the joint initiative of Faridpur district BNP and metropolitan BNP.
A procession was brought out on this occasion from Faridpur Press Club at 11:00am in the day. The procession paraded through Mujib road and ended at Golpukur intersection in Alipur.
Leaders and activists of district BNP, metropolitan BNP, Jubo Dal, Krishak Dal, Swechasebak Dal, Chhatra Dal, and Mahila Dal participated in the procession.
Earlier, a discussion was held in front of the Faridpur Press Club, chaired by District BNP convenor Advocate Syed Modarres Ali Isar. District BNP senior joint convenor Afzal Hossain Khan Palash, joint convenor Syed Zulfiqar Hossain Jewel, Advocate Golam Rabbani Bhuiyan Raton, metropolitan BNP convenor AFM Kayyum Jangi, former organizing secretary Rashidul Islam Liton, joint convenor Khandakar Tulu, Ataur Rashid Bacchu, Delwar Hossain Dila, Azam Khan, and MT Akhtar Tutul spoke at the discussion.
The meeting was conducted by District BNP member secretary AK Kibria Swapan and metropolitan member secretary Golam Mustafa Miraj. The speakers, reminiscing about the soldiers' revolution on November 7 in 1975, said that Ziaur Rahman was freed on this day through the revolution of the soldiers and the people. It was through this that the independence of Bangladesh was secured. The speakers urged the party leaders and workers to take lesson from this great day. They told them to stay united by taking lessons from this great day so that they can conduct their political activities in the future.
Many other leaders and activists of district BNP and metropolitan BNP were present at the discussion.
