National Jute Day was observed in Chuadanga under the auspices of District Administration and Jute Department on March 6 following rally and discussion meeting.
A rally was brought out and paraded the main roads of the town. After rally a discussion meeting was held at Deputy Commissioner Conference Room with Sharmin Akhtar, Deputy Commissioner (Routine work) in the chair. Nazmul Hamid Reza, ADC (General), Nazimuddin Al Azad, Additional Superintendent of Police, Momraz Ali, Additional Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Department and Harun Or Rashid, Chief Inspector of Jute Department spoke at the meeting. Our Munshiganj Correspondent adds: National Jute Day was celebrated in Munshiganj on March 6 with the slogan "Bangabandhu's Bangladesh, Bangladesh of Smart Jute Industry". On this occasion, a rally was taken out from the district administration office at 10 am on Wednesday. The rally flag went up to 71 and returned to the district administration office. After that, the discussion meeting started in the meeting room of the Deputy Commissioner.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Masudul Alam presided over the meeting. Md Enayet Hossain, Officer Chief Inspector of District Jute Directorate, spoke at the discussion meeting. District Training Officer SAM Wahiduzzaman and District Information Officer Deepak Chandra Das were present as special guests in the meeting.
Also, the upazila officials of the district jute directorate and the district jute producing farmers were present. Masudul Alam said in the discussion meeting that the soil of Munshiganj is more suitable for jute cultivation. Large quantities of jute can be produced here.
To protect the balance of the environment, we can avoid plastic products and adopt jute products. Consumption of jute products will be good for the environment of the country and it will be possible to earn foreign exchange for the country by exporting more jute.
