A five-day long 19th National Furniture Fair will kick off at International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka on October 15.
Bangladesh Furniture Industry Owners Association will organise the fair with the slogan 'My country is my hope, will decorate my home with domestic furniture'.
The objective of this fair is to develop the domestic furniture industry as well as to increase exports outside the country, Alhaj Sheikh Abdul Awal, convenor of the fair committee, said at a virtual briefing on Wednesday.
“Once, we had to import furniture from abroad. At present, we are able to export furniture by meeting the need of the country. It is contributing to the country's economy,” he said.
Interested buyers may visit the fair without tickets from 10:00am to 9:00pm every day till October 19, he added.
Organisers say that the fair will have stalls of famous companies including Hatil, Akhtar, Omega Furniture, Navana, Regal, Nadia, Brothers Furniture, etc.
FBCCI administrator Hafizur Rahman will inaugurate the fair as chief guest.
