The National Library Day-2023 was observed in Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Sunday under the theme- ‘Smart Library, Smart Bangladesh’.
On the occasion, IU ‘Khademul Haramain King Fahad Bin Abdul Aziz’s central library authorities organised the programme on day on the campus.
The central library authorities brought out a colourful procession on the campus. Later, they arranged a discussion meeting. The procession started from in front of the library and ended at the premises of the library after parading the main roads on the campus.
Later, a discussion program started while IU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Shaikh Abdus Salam addressed here as a chief guest, chaired by Librarian (in-charge) SM Abdul Latif. IU Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr M Mahbubur Rahman and treasurer Professor Dr M Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan were present as special guests while acting registrar HM Ali Hasan of the university was also present as a guest of honor.
The IU Vice Chancellor spoke about the worth of the libraries. He said libraries help to install reading habits and called on the participants to practice reading books.
