National Fisheries Week was inaugurated in Tangail with the motto “Bhorbo Machhe Moder Desh, Gorbo Smart Bangladesh” on Wednesday.
A rally and discussion jointly arranged by district administration and District Fisheries Officer’s Office were held on this occasion. The rally was brought out from District Shilpakala Academy and paraded various roads. Later, fish fries were released in the Deputy Commissioner’s lake.
Deputy Commissioner of Tangail Md Kaisarul Islam presided over the programme at the auditorium of District Shilpakala Academy. Local Member of Parliament Sanowar Hossain attended the discussion as the chief guest.
Superintendent of Police Golam Sabur, Tangail Municipality Mayor S M Sirajul Haque, Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Tofazzal Hossain Khan Tofa and Abul Kalam Azad were present at the programme.
