Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF) hall-room gears up to host the 48th National B Chess Championship commencing on Friday.
A strong contingent of 36 players will vie for glory in this prestigious event.
The line-up boasts three esteemed International Masters - Mohammad Fahad Rahman, Md Minhaz Uddin and Abu Sufian Shakil - alongside ten FIDE Masters and a Woman International Master.
Additionally, participants from last year's National Final phase, sixteen qualifiers from the 48th National Preliminary phase, the reigning National Woman Champion, an International Woman Master, and National Junior and Girls Champions will be showcased.
The tournament format employs a nine-round Swiss-League system, with a coveted nine qualifying spots up for grabs for the National Chess Championship.
It's important to note this is distinct from the 4th National Chess Championship - presumably a typo.
Five Grandmasters - Enamul Hossain, Ziaur Rahman, Niaz Murshed, Reefat Bin Sattar and Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib - have received direct invitations to participate in this highly anticipated championship.
