Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation AJM Nasir Uddin on Monday urged Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Das Ganguly for accelerated investment from her country in port city Chattogram.
The mayor made the appeal to the Indian envoy while the latter was paying a courtesy call on him at his office on Monday morning.
At that time, Nasir and Ganguly discussed various issues related to the interests of the two countries. Through the envoy, the mayor congratulated the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for forming government for second consecutive time.
During the meet, Nasir said Chattogram is a main business center of the country. Capacity of Chattogram Port is enormous. India is implementing industrial projects in Chattogram’s economic zone. Chattogram has many different sectors where Indian businessmen can invest.
“So, I call on the businessmen of your country for more investment in Chattogram,” Nasir told Ganguly.
Assistant High Commissioner Anindya Banerjee, chief executive officer of CCC Md Samsuddoha, councilor Shybal Das Sumon, chief engineer of CCC AKM Rezaul Karim and others were present.
