District administration of Narail is monitoring the market price of essentials during the holy month of Ramadan in a bid to prevent any price hike at three upazilas including the district town.
Deputy Commissioner of Narail Anjuman Ara and Superintendent of Police Md. Jasim Uddin visited Rupganj bazaar on Tuesday to monitor the market price of essentials and prevent adulterated and substandard foods.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md.Sarfuddin, Deputy director of department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) Chinmoy Roy, Narail Chamber of Commerce’s president M. Hasanuzzaman,Rupganj Shilpa and Banik Samity’s president Md.Razibul Biswas among others present in the time.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anjuman Ara said that drastic action will be taken against those who will be found involved in creating any artificial crises of essentials and manufacturing, selling and possessing of adulterated and substandard foods. District administration was taken a decision of keeping the supply of essential consumer products and retail price stable in the month of Ramadan, she said.
She said that Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has
already started selling essentials in open markets in the town for keeping the essentials’ prices stable for holy month of Ramadan and
it will continue throughout the holy month.
