Bangladesh National Awami Party (Bangladesh NAP) expressed deep shock at the death of former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.
In a condolence message issued on Monday, the party’s chairman Jebel Rahman Ghaani and secretary general M Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan recalled Pranab’s cordial relation with Bangladesh and different political parties including the Bangladesh NAP.
The two leaders described Pranab Mukherjee as one of the greatest friends of Bangladesh and stalwart of Indian politics. They prayed for eternal peace of departed soul of the former Indian President and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Jebel Rahman Ghaani had the opportunity to meet the Indian leader during his visit to that country. Pranab Mukherjee breathed his last in New Delhi on Monday (August 31). He was 84.
