The National Award winning artist, the front man of his iconic rock band Faruq Mahfuz Anam James, popularly called as the 'Nagar Baul James' and 'Guru' by the audiences of rock music in Bangladesh, James means the boundless excitement and the insanity of the audience. Even at the age of 57, the living legend still performs music with vigor.
It is learnt that the Nagar Baul is going to the United States to perform at a huge event titled 'Banga Sammelan' in Las Vegas and Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan is the brand ambassador of the event.
James' spokesman Rubaiyat Tagore Robin confirmed the news to the media. In addition, a poster about James has already been made for public along with the details of the event.
Las Vegas is known around the world as the city of entertainment. This time 'Banga Sammelan' is going to be held there the biggest festival of Bengali speakers. The festival will be held in Las Vegas, California, USA from July 1 to 3 North America Bengali Conference-NABC. About 100 artists will be present to entertain the Bengalis in different stages including songs, fashion, dramas, reality shows.
The Bengalis of West Bengal, India, established the ‘Banga Cultural Association’ in America half a century ago. The ‘Banga Sammelan’ has been going on for 42 years under this organisation. At the time of the agreement, the convener of ‘Banga Sammelan’ Milon Aon signed the agreement on behalf of CAB and Hasanuzzaman Saki was in charge of organising the event on behalf of Bangladesh Outreach.
On January 26, Shakib Khan was contracted as the brand ambassador of the event. The agreement was signed at a restaurant called 'Fish Soup' in Manhattan, USA. The Co-Convener of NABC Ashok Rakshita, Abhik Dasgupta, one of the organisers of CAB, Adarsh Chatterjee, a businessman, Shaheen Kabir, a businessman and producer from Bangladesh and Olive Ahmed were also present at the event.
