Former Bangladesh batsman and current national team logistics manager, Nafees Iqbal, has been struck down by a stroke. The 39-year-old was airlifted to Dhaka from Chattogram for treatment, Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) chief physician, Debashish Chowdhury, confirmed on Friday afternoon.
"Nafees suffered a stroke earlier today," Chowdhury informed the media. "We're moving him to Dhaka for further assessment and treatment. He's expected to be admitted to Bangladesh Specialized Hospital by 4:00 pm."
Iqbal was recently part of the Bangladesh contingent that toured the USA and West Indies for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Notably, he is the elder brother of current Bangladesh star Tamim Iqbal and nephew of former captain Akram Khan.
