In a terrible fire at Nabinagar Bazar in Brahmanbaria, goods worth around crores of Taka including cash were burnt on Sunday evening.
The incident took place at Nabinagar Bazar committee president Monir Hossain's Mohan Hardware (paint shop).
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Masum, Mayor Adv. Shiv Shankar Das and OC Pravas Chandra Das visited the site of the fire.
As the Narayanpur Fire Service office in the municipal area had no equipment, fire service men from Muradnagar (Companyganj) Fire Service office came to the spot.
However, locals were able to control the fire before the fire service arrived. The fire is said to have started from an electrical short circuit.
