A man confessed to a Narayanganj court that he killed his wife.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Kawsar Alam recorded the confessional statement of school teacher Aminul Islam under the Section no. 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) on Wednesday.
Aminul admitted that he alone killed his wife Shanta Akter by hitting hail stone (spicy blending stone) due to conjugal dispute.
After killing he used a sharp weapon to cut the skin of the body's different parts and plugged salt as the body doesn’t rotten within a short time, court inspector Asaduzzaman asserted.
Earlier, police recovered the body of a housewife from the emergency department of Bandar upazila health complex on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Shanta Akter, 22, daughter of Kalimullah of Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj and was also wife of Aminul Islam, 30. The couple was a tenant at Sultan Mia’s house in Nabiganj area in Bandar.
According to the police Aminul Islam who is a teacher in Mathematics department of Bandar Girls School and College on Tuesday night rushed at Bandar upazila health complex emergency department with his unconscious wife.
The on-duty physicians after examining him assumed that Shanta Akter was killed two or three days ago. The body bore several marks of injuries on the head, salt was spread on the whole body and also was wrapped by cloth.
Then on duty doctor informed Bandar thana police station and police within few minutes rush to health complex recovered the body of Shanta Akter detained her husband Aminul Islam.
Officer-In-Charge Bandar thana police station Md Fakruddin Bhuiyan told that Aminul Islam was sent to the court.
Shanta’s father, Kalimullah had filed with Bandar police a murder case accusing Aminul Islam and 2-3 unknown others.
