A devastating fire broke out at an electronic goods manufacturing factory at Ratandi area under Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj on Sunday.
The fire originated at 10:30am and gutted all the electronics goods in the factory.
On information, eight units of fire fighters rushed to the spot and doused the blaze at the Konka Electronics factory after a fanatic effort.
Sources said that a total of 240 workers of the factory were on their regular duty on Sunday morning. However, all of a sudden the fire originated at the first floor and engulfed the three-storied building soon. The workers managed to come out of the factory safely.
One of the factory workers was injured while he tried to come out the factory. Police personnel rescued and sent him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.
Deputy Director of Fire Service and Civil Defence of Narayanganj Abdullah Al Arefin told the media that 8 units of fire fighters tried their best and extinguished fire within three hours.
A huge amount of manufactured goods were destroyed completely due to the fire. The exact amount of the losses could not be known immediately.
