After three months of staying at home due to coronavirus pandemic, Bangladesh wicketkeeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim, who is out of action like the other cricketers, finally took the field and started training on his own.

The senior batsman of the Bangladesh team has started training individually.at Fortis Training Ground in capital’s Badda on Tuesday.

After the lockdown period, Mushfiqur became the first senior cricketer in the Bangladesh team to start training on the field. The first day's practice session was light though. He ran and stretched on the pitch for a couple of hours in the morning.

Mushfiqur has chosen this field because there is a good opportunity to practice in solitude and hygiene environment. Moinul Hossain, deputy general manager of Fortis Group, told that, “Mushfiqur came here in the morning to practice. He told us he would come here once a week. He also said he would let us know before coming to practice.”

In the first week of June, Mushfiqur requested the BCB to start training in Mirpur. The BCB then discouraged him from coming to the field as the situation in the country was not good. The rate of corona infection is still the same as before.

Earlier, Mushfiq visited the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Monday. But, the reason behind his visit was unknown. He took a picture on the stadium field and wrote on Facebook, ‘(I have been) missing this wonderful venue. Only almighty knows when we can restart practice,’ Mushfiq wrote in the caption.
