The official journey of Munshiganj Sangbadik Club started at the temporary office of the Club on Tuesday afternoon. All the members of the 11-member committee for a three-year term unanimously accepted the proposal to make MA Halim the President (chief editor, national weekly Alo) and Md. Robel the General Secretary (district Correspondent of Bangladesh Post).
The other members of the committee includes Md. Saiful Islam (district Correspondent of Daily Amader Kantha), Md. Minhazul Islam (district correspondent of Daily Desher Kantha), Abu Saeed Sourav (district correspondent of Daily Bhorer Kalam) and Md. Farhad Mia (district correspondent of Daily Bangladesh Barta) among others.
President of the committee MA Halim said the organization would mainly work with professional journalists. He also emphasized on effective organization with professionalism and not the traditional way of organizing. He further said that media workers have to work beyond their personal preferences. He expressed his conviction that all the members of this organization can work towards that goal.
GS Md. Robel said the organization would try to ensure the livelihood and rights of the journalists. Besides, one of the goals is to publish the news related to public interest objectively and jointly protest on local, national and international issues.
