The office of Munshiganj Journalists Union was inaugurated in Khaleast Bottola area of the town on Saturday.
The inauguration programme was held at 11:00am on Saturday.
Adviser of Munshiganj Journalist Union Abdul Mannan Khan inaugurated the office. Salman Hassan recited the Holy Quran at the beginning of the inauguration ceremony. A minute’s silence was observed in memory of the martyrs killed during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Munshiganj Journalists Union president Kazi Hassan Biplob presided over the inauguration programme. Kumarbhog union BNP organizing secretary Aslam Dhali, vice-president Md Jashim Uddin, organizing secretary Dewan Md Rahmat Ullah, member Abdul Salam, executive members Mohammad Anwar Hossain and Mohammad Jahangir Alam spoke at the programme.
Munshiganj Journalists Union general secretary Mohammad Rubel moderated the programme. Munshiganj Journalists Union office secretary Mohammad Masud Hassan Khan, joint secretary Mohammad Jashim Uddin, publicity and publication secretary Mohammad Shah Alam, members Mohammad Shamim, Mohammad, Mohammad Rubel Byapari, Nasima Sultana Rita, Mohammad Suman, Rupa Begum, Laizu Akter, Qadir Khan, Abdul Malek and other members of the organization were present at that time.
The speakers said the journalists have to perform their professional duties properly. Journalist Union is not a place for luxury. It is an organization for meeting the rights. If anyone is harmed while fulfilling their professional responsibilities or becomes a victim of attacks or conspiracy cases, it has to be fought collectively. Every journalist needs to become aware of getting their rights. They have to know about the various benefits of the newspaper.
After the discussion, the office of Munshiganj Journalists Union was inaugurated by cutting ribbon.
