Mukundapur Free Day has been celebrated in Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district. On the occasion of the day, discussion meeting and Milad Mehfil was held on Friday.
The day was inaugurated on Friday 19 November at 10 am by hoisting the flag at the premises of Mukundpur Sejamura Muktijoddha Club in the upazila.
Freedom Fighter Sergeant (Retd) Haji Mohammad AH Irfan Uddin Ahmed, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) spoke as the chief guest at the discussion and Milad Mehfil chaired by Dabir Ahmed Bhuiyan and conducted by Sultan Mahmud Sarkar.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Rabia Asfar Saima, Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mirza Mohammad Hasan, Freediom Fighter Abdul Hai Master and others spoke as special guests.
It may be mentioned that Mukundpur, Sejamura and surrounding areas of Bijoynagar Upazila were liberated on 19 November 1971 during the Great War of Independence.
