On the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth centenary, Mujib Year Cycling Expedition team, with the participation of 100 Army cyclists, reached Teknaf on Tuesday after covering a distance of 1,010 km in 23 long days.
The cyclist team reached Zero Point of Sabrang Union in Teknaf on the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive road at 3:15 pm in the afternoon.
The concerned officers and members of the army present there congratulated the expedition team. The participants in the cycling expedition were also overjoyed at the time, to be able to successfully complete the programme.
Later, Brigadier General Omar Sadiq, Commander of the 10th Artillery Brigade of Ramu 10 Infantry Division of the Army, spoke as the chief guest at the flag-in ceremony of the Mujib Year Cycling Expedition held at Sabrang Zero Point.
Speaking as the chief guest, Brigadier General Omar Sadiq said the cycling expedition was organized as part of the Army's year-long programme to celebrate and commemorate the birth centenary of Bangladesh's architect and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
On November 8, a 100-member cyclist team of the army set out on a cycling expedition from Zero Point on the Banglabandha border in Tentuliaupazila of Panchagarh district in the far north of the country.
