The biographical film "Mujib: The Making of a Nation" will be shown to audiences in 160 upazilas of Bangladesh as part of a joint initiative between the governments of Bangladesh and India to honor the legacy of the country's founding father. The film, which was directed by the well-known director Shyam Benegal, has attracted a lot of attention for how it depicts Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's life and accomplishments.
Thursday, at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC), a press conference was convened to announce this ambitious endeavor. Managing Director Nuzhat Yeasmin, speaking at the event, emphasized the importance of widespread access to the film, urging media professionals to support its promotion.
"A roadmap has been prepared for the public screening of the biopic 'Mujib'," Yeasmin stated, underlining the concerted efforts to ensure that individuals across Bangladesh have the opportunity to view the film. She further revealed that district administrators, in collaboration with district commissioners, have finalized the screening locations to encourage maximum audience participation.
The outreach strategy includes coordination with district and upazila city information officers who will employ miking to inform residents about the screening locations a day prior to the events. This comprehensive approach aims to engage communities and facilitate their access to the cinematic portrayal of Bangabandhu's life.
In "Mujib: The Making of a Nation," Arifin Shuvoo delivers a compelling portrayal of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, while Nusrat Imrose Tisha takes on the role of his wife, Sheikh Fazilatunnesa. The film also features Prarthana Fardin Dighi as the younger Renu and Nusraat Faria as Sheikh Hasina.
With a stellar cast including Riaz as Tajuddin Ahmad, Chanchal Chowdhury as Bangabandhu's father, Sheikh Lutfar Rahman, and Raisul Islam Asad as Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani, the biopic promises to offer a nuanced depiction of pivotal figures in Bangladesh's history.
The nationwide screening initiative underscores the commitment of both governments to honor the enduring legacy of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and to educate and inspire future generations about his visionary leadership in the struggle for independence and nation-building.
