Ishwardi unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) inaugurated the countdown-clock of Mujib Barsho, marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, at the BCL office at Post Office Crossing of Iswardi in Pabna at 5:30 pm on Tuesday.
Kamrunnahar Sharif, President of Ishwardi Upazila Mohila Awami League and wife of Pabna-4 MP Shamsur Rahman Sharif, inaugurated the countdown clock.
In a brief speech, Kamrunnahar Sharif said that Bangladesh would not born unless Bangabandhu was born. She advised the BCL leaders and activists to follow the ideals of Bangabandhu to build the Sonar Bangladesh under the able leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. She urged the BCL leaders to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Presided over by Rakibul Hasan Rony, President of Ishawardi Upazila Chhatra League, the function was attended and addressed, among others, by Upazila AL General Secetary Moklesur Rahman Mintu, former Muktijoddha Commander Golam Mostafa Channa Mondal, Principal of Sara Marwari School and College Ainul Islam, Principal of Mohila College Abdul Hamid, Joint Secretary of Municipal AL Shafiqul Islam Bachchu, General Secretary of Muladuly Union of AL Kamal Hossan Mithu, President of Upazila Jubo League Shirhan Sharif Tomal, President and the general Secretary of Municipal Jubo League Alauddin Biplob and Ariful islam Liton respectively and general Secretary of Upazila Jubo League Sumon Das.
