‘MR-9: Do or Die’ released on STARS Network

The Bangladeshi action and suspense movie "MR-9: Do or Die" has premiered on the US premium cable TV and satellite network STARS. Produced by Jazz Multimedia, the film has quickly become one of the top 10 most watched movies on the STARS website. Directed by Asif Akbar, "MR-9" has been well-received, ranking second on the list. The top spot is held by the Hollywood movie "The Ministry of Gentlemanly Warfare," with "Night Shift" in third place.

"MR-9: Do or Die," which runs for 1 hour and 48 minutes, costs $5.99 to rent on the STARS platform. The film was released on STARS in July and made its debut in Bangladesh on August 25, 2023. At the time of its release, it was shown in 18 theaters across Bangladesh and in 151 theaters in Canada and the United States.

Producer Abdul Aziz expressed his excitement on Facebook, stating, "MR-9 is now number two on the list. This success of the movie is really a blessing for us. The movie is consistently in the top 10." 

According to IMDb, "MR-9" has been released in over 10 countries, including the USA, Canada, UK, Russia, and Pakistan. 

Following this successful launch, the producer announced plans to release the movie again in various countries in the Middle East starting September 26.

The film, made at a cost of 83 crore taka, is based on the character Masood Rana, created by the late writer Kazi Anwar Hossain. The screenplay was written by Nazim Ud Daula, and ABM Suman plays the lead role of Masood Rana. The movie also features international actors such as Frank Grillo and Jessia Islam.
