Actress Mousumi Hamid, who has recently been in the news due to her comments on marital separation, is now shifting the focus back to her professional life. While her remarks initially led to speculation about her marriage, Mousumi clarified that her statements were meant in a broader context, not related to her own relationship.

Mousumi, who tied the knot with writer-director Abu Sayeed Rana on January 12 this year, has been sharing joyful moments from her marriage on social media, dispelling any rumours of discord. Now, she is ready to make headlines for her work with the announcement of her upcoming film Noya Manush, set to premiere on December 6.

Directed by Sohel Rana Boyati, Noya Manush is a poignant drama that sheds light on the struggles of communities living on the chars (river islands), which are frequently affected by floods. The film is based on the short story "Bedonar Balu Chore" by AMM Hasanuzzaman, and the screenplay was penned by renowned playwright Masum Reza. Through the eyes of the working-class people of the chars, Noya Manush portrays their resilience and determination in the face of nature’s unpredictability.

In an official statement, director Boyati shared that the journey of creating Noya Manush mirrored the themes of the film itself, emphasising perseverance and survival. "The production faced significant challenges, but we’re thrilled to have received uncut approval from the censor board," he said. "We are excited to share this story with the audience."

The film features an impressive ensemble cast, including Mousumi Hamid, Ashish Khandakar, Jhuna Chowdhury, Rawnak Hasan, Nilufer Wahid, Badruddoza, Smaran Saha, Shikha Karmakar, Mahin Rahman, Mehran Sanjana, Parveen Paru, and child artist Ushashi.

Produced by Nandanik Films under the G-Series banner, Noya Manush began production in October 2022. However, filming was temporarily halted due to the devastating Super Cyclone Sitrang, which severely damaged the shooting set. Production resumed in April 2023, and the film was completed by April 12. It was submitted for certification on September 18 and received uncut clearance from the censor board on October 23. With its upcoming release on December 6, Noya Manush marks Mousumi Hamid's long-awaited return to the big screen, promising to captivate audiences with its powerful narrative of survival and resilience.
